Sketch Challenge at Elle's Studio .....

Today is Sketch Thursday over on the Elle's Studio Blog and I made a layout using the sketch for the blog post
It features my favorite kitty ever - my Gremlin boy. Oh how I love that cat! He's not an outside cat, but sometimes I'll take him onto the front porch and he'll walk up and down the porch rails. He really is a fraidy cat and would never jump off the porch!! He likes to look around and feel the sun on him for about 2 minutes then he's ready to come back in.
I used products from the new Elle's Studio Collection Shine which will be shipping out to lss and internet stores soon! It is a fun, bright and gorgeous collection with tons of wood veneer pieces and some very cool stamps. I used two of the stamps on this layout - the black dots and the blue arrow border which is from the Washi  Stamp Set - my favorite set ever!! And I'm not even really a stamper!
Here's the sketch
I turned it on it's side and them for the squares I first drew
them, then watercolored them, then stitched each individual square. Then I started the layering. This layout turned out way different than I first pictured - but that ALWAYS happens to me! I love the way it turned out - and it truly is my own version of the sketch!! LOL
You should join in this week - all you need to do is use the sketch, use some Elle's Studio product (it doesn't have to be all ES, just a bit will be fine), upload your layout to the ES Gallery here and link it up in the original blog post here and you could win a $10 gift certificate to be used in the Elle's Studio store!
I can't wait to see your projects!! :)

Reveal Day for the Weekend Adventure Front Porch Kit!!

Isn't this kit just jam packed with fun goodies??!!
You can go to the Little Blue House website here to order your kit!!
And here are the projects that I made with the kit!
First is a layout of my cutie great nephew!! This was the last project that I made and I wanted to use up a lot of my leftovers so I layered on the stickers and leftover pieces of patterned paper, but I didn't have enough of the yellow paper to balance out the top and bottom - so I used one of the stamps from the exclusive stamp set included in the kit to make a pattern at the top of the layout - the yellow arrows!!
Next is a cute little passport cover using the piece of jean that came in the kit
I found the measurements on Pinterest and just started sewing!! I sewed as piece of ribbon across the body to use as a tie and the flower is layered with punched shapes from the piece of map!
Next is a sweet and simple layout of my kids - I really am lucky to have such great kids!! I used a piece of the branding strip as part of my title!
This is my two pager - about our fun "ghost" adventure in New Orleans last year! The "adventure" is a custom cut by The Little Blue House!!
I have one more project - a mini album - that I will share with you tomorrow as there are lots of photos!!
Be sure to check out the rest of the Design Team reveals - you will be amazed by their creativity!!

Elle's Studio May 2014 Kit Reveal...

I can't believe it's already that time again to have the Elle's Studio May 2014 Kit Reveal.....and there are so many exciting exclusives this month!! Not only is there a May Limited Edition - Exclusive Tags kit with coordinating  stamps, wood veneers, and cut files....
But there is the Limited Edition Patriotic set with coordinating stamp and wood veneers also!!

Here are the projects that I made using these inspiring products!!

My first layout features products from the Elle's Studio May 2014 Main kit and coordinating wood veneer pieces. I also used patterned papers from the Love You More Collection.

My next layout features one of the cut files - the scalloped edge border piece. I enlarged and duplicated the border, cut out several and then sewed them across the base piece of patterned paper on my layout. For a couple of the embellishments that surround my photos, I heat embossed a piece of the wooden veneer with gold glitter embossing powder and stamped the sentiment with pink ink using one of the stamps from the exclusive stamp set.
I was in a card making mood this month, and my first card features one of the tags from the May kit. I used a scalloped edge card base, wrapped silver floss around the "petals" and then layered the corner rounded tag on top. I made the little pinwheel as an accent piece to give some dimension to my card. I sprinkled a few enamel dots around and my card was done! This came together so quickly!

For my last three cards, I used products from the Patriotic kit and matching wood veneer pieces and stamp set. On the top card, I first stamped some stars in opposite corners of my base then layered one of the transparency pieces on top of navy cardstock and layered a wood veneer piece on top of that. For the second card, I used the light blue star packaging that the wood veneer pieces came in as the base to my card, then layered a tag matted with cardstock on top and wood veneer stars on top of that. The last card features another journal tag, transparency piece and wood veneer stars.

There is so much goodness this month!! Here are the links where you can purchase all of it!
