wonderful you.....

This is layout using some of my favorite photos of my youngest dd. I just love a grid look and the patterned paper (the October Afternoon piece) in the February Studio Calico kit was just begging me to use it!! The colors. the designs, the size - it was all so perfect for me to use on this layout!

I also used some Project Life cards from my Studio Calico PL kit and simply cut them down to the right size. A couple of the cards were just too white, so I spritzed them with my favorite pink spray mist Mister Huey Boss Lady. My bottle of mist is over half gone - I'll be sad when there's no more..;(.

I fussy cut one of the exclusive Studio Calico designed pieces of pp to run down the left side, then added some gold doilies for some pop.

Thank you so much for stopping by and I hope you have a great day!! :)

Front Porch Kit Reveal Day - "Your Time to Shine"

It's time for the full reveal!! Here is what comes in your kit - lots of beautiful papers, metallic gold and silver, bling, glitter ribbons, a stamp set designed by Reverse Confetti, and even a 6x12 canvas!! Lots of goodies to get your creative juices flowing!!
Here are the projects that I made
First is a layout that I made using a photo of my daughter and me. I used my Silhouette Cameo to cut the Dresden quilt pattern and stitched it onto my page to peak out from under my photo.
Next I used a photo of my youngest dd on this layout. I did some fussy cutting and stamping to create a border across the top of my layout. I used gold ink and then used gold Stickles for the dots in the i's. And for even more bling, there is a border of sequins across the bottom of the page!

Since it was so close to Valentine's Day I have had hearts on my mind, so I created a heart wall hanging with the canvas piece. I first painted it using some wall paint sample that I had sitting around. I then layered on black cardboard pieces across the canvas. I cut my base hearts (the dark pink) from the material in the kit. I then cut some pinked hearts (using my Silhouette Cameo) in descending sizes and layered them. I sewed down the middle of the hearts (sewing some sequins down the center of the middle heart), adhered them to the canvas, and popped the edges up. I used the scroll stamp from the stamp set to create borders at the top and bottom of the canvas and accented them with pearl paint. I then splattered the whole canvas with some gold lame spray mist. I attached some ribbon to some eye hooks that I screwed into the top of my canvas to hang.
My next project is a double page layout with photos of my son and his bride. I used black cardstock as my base and diecut a chevron border across the middle of the pages. I backed the cuts with patterned papers. I also diecut the title and then spritzed it with some shiny spray mist. I made the flowers using the rest of the pink fabric (that I used to make the hearts for the canvas piece) and layered them on top of the pink twine. I used the scroll stamp (my fav of the stamp set) in the corners which I accented with pink pearl paint.
My last project is a card. By the time a made my card, I didn't have much left in my kit, so I decided to make a clean and simple card using the stamp set. I heat embossed the crown with American Crafts gold glitter embossing powder. I next stamped the sentiment under the crown with gold ink. I used the gorgeous little bling pieces on the tops of the crown and attached one of the flower bling at the bottom of it. I then made it into a layered banner piece and sewed it onto my card base.

This was such an awesome kit to work with - the products meshed so well, and the stamp set was fun to play with!

Make sure you check out the rest of the design team's reveals and prepared to be inspired!!

February Elle's Studio Monthy Kit Release!!!

I can't believe it's already been a month - it's really flown by fast! But, it's time for the new February release of Elle's Studio Monthly kit - and this month has an awesome exclusive wood veneer set that you can order! There is limited quantity of the veneer so hurry and get yours before they sell out! And for today only - you can get the Elle's Studio Monthly kit for the reduced price of $9.99 until midnight. After today, the price goes up to $11.99. SALE IS EXTENDED!! There were problems with the ordering yesterday, so the sale has been extended to one more day! So, at the end of today (Tuesday, February 11) you can still get the kit for the reduced price of $9.99!!!

These are my projects that I made this month:
This layout of our newest member of the family - Chip - was made using products from the February kit as well as the exclusive wood veneer that's available this month. For my base cardstock, I used watercolors around the edge and to stamp the hearts (using a bent into heart shape empty paper towel roll as the stamp). The title was cut using my Silhouette Cameo, the February cut files, and some paper from Elle's Studio Love you More Collection.
I used the Everyday Moments Collection for this layout of some sassy photos of my youngest dd. The layered hearts were cut on my Cameo using the February cut files. After layering the hearts, I sewed down the middle of the group and bent/popped up the heart layers.
And last, I made a couple of Valentine cards using the Love You More Collection, February diecuts, and the February kit.

Thanks so much for stopping by!! Have a wonderful day!!

Gossamer Blue / Elle's Studio Blog Hop....

I can't even believe how lucky I am that I got to use February's Gossamer Blue scrapbook kits for this blog hop!! When we were asked if wanted to, my answer was "Heck yeah!!". Their kits are so so gorgeous and jam packed with so many goodies - and this month there are lots of Elle's Studio yumminess!! I got to work with the February Main Scrapbook Kit and the February Main Add-On kit .

The first thing I decided to make was a mini album using the journaling tags from the Love You More collection by Elle's Studio that were in the main kit. I don't do PL style albums, so I like to use my journaling cards in different ways, and a mini album is a cool way to use lots of them at once!! And it's perfect because they all coordinate so well and there's not a lot of cutting papers down for the pages of your album.

I used the cards as the base, and then I filled the pages with lots of the goodies from both the main and the add-on kits. It's one of my favorite minis that I've ever done!

I also made this layout using several of the cut files and the whole pack of wooden veneer pieces (my absolute favorite embellishment to use) that are in the main kit! For the "happy banner" cut file pieces, after cutting them, I edged the bottoms of them with gold glitter. I used one of latest photos of dh and me on this layout.

I just want to thank the ladies at Gossamer Blue so very much for allowing me to be a part of the blog hop!!
Here is a list of everyone that is taking part in the hop. Make sure to stop by all of them, and then comment on both the Elle's Studio blog and the Gossamer blue blog to be entered into the giveaway for some awesome prizes.
