Vintage Photos

I just love the vintage photos that I had printed from the slides my Mom has had in a drawer for years!! They are of my siblings and me from a LONG time ago! This is one of me all dressed up for my 1st Communion in 1970! The mod 60's/70's mini dress with the cutout peep flowers around the waist and that huge veil are just too funny!! For the layout, I used my April 201 Studio Calico kit! I layered the top bannery thing using the round medallion from the Pink Paislee packaing and a piece of the metal that came in the packaging (which I I heat embossed), then layered a My Minds Eye sticker on top of that! I also used my new Martha Stewart butterfly border punch that punches a complete strip - I love those punches! The partridges all lines up are a nod to the 70's Partridge Family Show - Lori would have really appreciated this dress! And the colorful rainbow is just so very 70's to me!! TFL!!

Scrapping with Scraps!

I was part of a challenge ( and made a challenge here at Tallyscrapper - join in!!) to use scraps that you have sitting around or on your scrap table on a layout and I came up with this layout of Danielle and her best friend since the 5th grade! I keep all the little pieces of my favorite patterned papers at the end of my table next to my trimmer to use as little touches on my layouts and cards - but the pile has grown too huge! I loved using up a lot of my strips on here. At the other end of my table is a large milk glass pedestal candy dish where I keep all the little bits and pieces of embellishments that are leftover, but take up too much space in their packaging. I fished everything out of there and used them on my layout - even the bee that I stamped and to try out my new Zing, but didn't have the heart to throw away! TFL!

Just Imagine/Kreaxions Punch Challenges on blog!!

I've done a tutorial on how to make the gorgeous inner punched circle of my card that I made above using the Kreaxions 4 in 1 punches and the stencils and positioning parts (it's easier than it sounds - believe me if I can figure it out you can too!!) Check it out here on the Just Imagine/Kreaxions blog where we are also having a challenge month - simply link a project that you made using punches (any punch will be okay) and the challenge issued for that post and your name will be put into the hat to win a 4 in 1 punch or an awesome circle cutter! If you do use a Kreaxions punch - your name will be entered twice!! TFL!!

Basket full of Wonderful *April Studio Calico Kit*

I don't have many photos of my youngest dd, and this is one of the precious few. I have scrapped this picture before, but when I saw the papers and the colors in the April SC kit, I thought it would be perfect! I have to admit, I am hoarding several pieces of the flowered Crate paper at the bottom that I purchased at my lss. I think I could wallpaper my house with it if I had enough of it (which I don't ;) ...LOL). I've been on a heat embossing craze since I bought some Zing, and I heat embossed the metal banner piece as well as the clouds and sun! Those wooden letters in the title are just awesome and I misted them with Maya Mist (pink) to give them a stained look! I also lightly misted the tag with the same! TFL!!

Last creations before I get my new SC kit....

I wanted to make a couple of layouts using the March Studio Calico kit before I got the new April SC kit in! I hate when I have a lot of a kit left when the new kit arrives!! Actually, the top "My Happy Place" layout was from an even older SC kit (Oct 2010). I've had that pic of my scrappy space forever and I wanted to use something artistic looking to scrap it, and the Sassafras pp from that kit was perfect! I used all of my favorite techniques on this layout - misting, machine sewing, and border punches - so this layout really exemplifies everything that makes me happy where scrapping is concerned!!!

The bottom layout using yet another engagement pic of my son and his fiancee was from the March kit. I used my new plaid border punch by EK Success and my Sew Easy to sew the borders. I have an older Bazzill In Stitchz template that I used for the "Love" in the title. That bubble background stamp is just too cool - I love the effect it gives! I got that little crocheted butterfly from an awesome Etsy seller named Debbie here . She makes the most gorgeous little embellishments at the best prices!! Check her out!!

TFL!!
